OPERATION INSTRUCTIONS

Please read all instructions and warnings carefully before using the respirator.

1. Usages and Characteristics

The POWERED AIR PURIFYING RESPIRATOR (PRF-`103 )(refer to figure 1) provides the water proof main bodys design which can endure the strict cleaning and sterilizing. Three filters slots design determines that the respirator will be suitable for different working environments as you can choose to use one or two or three of the slots at the same time. The respirator is light in weight, comfortable in wearing, human body engineering design which can uniformly distribute the weight, easy in operation with remarkable positive pressure, service life, airtight and filtrating functions, 0.3μm filtrating precision and 99.97% filtrating efficiency. Its air flow is adjustable, clockwise turning up the air flow, otherwise turning down. The respirator allows people to work easily and pleasantly in conditions with exceed concentrations and/or hazard compound. The POWERED AIR PURIFYING RESPIRATOR is the best choice to provide protection from occupation diseases.

2. Scope of Application

2.1 Exploitation of sundry minerals or mines.

2.2 Crushing, sifting and delivery of ores in metallurgy.

2.3 Sand molding, cast sand removing and spraying in mechanical manufacture.

2.4 Mining for the production of refractory materials, such as glass, cement, and stones; breaking up, milling, sifting, blending, mining and delivery of asbestos in building material manufacture.

2.5 Pharmaceutical manufacturing, chemical and pesticide handling, dusty and hazard labs.

2.6 Protection from respiratory infections，like germs、viruses.

2.7 Channel caving and explosive operation in the building of highways, railways, irrigation works, hydroelectricity constructions.

2.8 If there is 103G, 103W filters in it, the respirator can be used in the condition that acidic gas, alkaline gas, neutral gas, organic gas coexist. In sum, this product is adaptive to various dusty and/or harmful operating conditions, protection from various particles (dust, fog, smoke and so on) and many kinds of poisonous and harmful peculiar smell.

3．Configuration

3.1 Three choices of filters for PRF-103 main body are supplied, 103HD, 103W and 103G.（refer to 6.2 for more info）

3.2 Six air supply hoods, one tighten full mask and one tighten half mask choices are supplied.

A2 air supply hamlet、M1 hood、M2 hood、M3 hood、M3+ hood、PS1 sand blast hood 、M5full mask、M6 half mask（refer to 6.2 for more info）

4. Installation

In the main body, there are three air intakes and 1 air outlet, the caps of which should be tighten rotated to the main body and the battery should have been installed inside of the main body. Before installation, please rotate anticlockwise to remove the caps of the air intakes and outlet to check whether there is a white silica gel gasket circle in each air intakes and outlet. Please make sure each gasket circle is installed properly before use. This is of great importance.

Please choose appropriate filters according to the working conditions. Please confirm again that all the silica gel gasket circles are properly installed. Rotate anticlockwise to remove the round cap on the top of the filter, then unclose the black tighten gasket in the filter bottom, after that please aim the interface with screw thread of the filer at the interface with screw thread of the air intake, then rotate clockwise tighten. One or two or three filters can be used at the same time. The quantity of intakes you use should be exactly the same as the filters you installed. When you are not using all the air intakes, please close all the other intakes. One side of the breathing tube should be fasten to the outlet of the main body and rotate tightly clockwise. The other side should be aimed to the interface of the air supply hood, and rotate tightly clockwise. (fig 1)

5. Using methods

5.1 Please check the respirator airflow before using. The method is that install the filter to the main body and the breathing tube to the filter, and then press the power switch and plug the end of the airflow indicator in the end of the breathing tube. While the air flow enters the indicator, the bobber in the indicator will float up, which indicates that it’s positive pressure now and the respirator can be used normally. Otherwise, the respirator is forbidden to be used. The reasons might be lacking power or filter’s resistance. Please check the filters and the electricity quantity of the battery and clean or change filters and recharge the battery timely.

Please adjust the straps in back and shoulders, the clamp inside the hood based on the personal differences. Then adorn the respirator; press the power switch to turn on it. Rotate the airflow knob to the suitable value. Now the respirator can start to work. An electronic warning system is installed inside the respirator which can buzz automatically when the battery is going to be out of power and then powered off automatically.

5.2 Cautions

5.2.1 Please do not use when the tighten gaskets in the air intakes or outlet are broken, aging or dropped. If using 2 or 3 filters at the same time, please use filters in the same type. Before using, the battery must be charged up. In duration of operation, this respirator must be switched on; otherwise no dust or poison control may be gained. It is prohibited to short circuit connect the product or put it into fire. The battery must be recharged up if not using it in at least six months. Main body（battery is charged up）can work for 6--8 hours continuously. When air flow regulates maximum, the battery can work for 6 hours continuously, when air flow regulate minimum, the battery can work 8 hours continuously. If it works for more than 6--8 hours, stand by battery must be prepared.

5.2.2 Prior to entering contaminated operating conditions, please wear this respirator with power supply switched on.

5.2.3 There might be a tiny gap in the sections between hood and face or neck. Please do not worry about it. Because it remains positive pressure within the facial mask, outside dust particles and gases could not get in.If the gap is a little big, please adjust the clamp in the neck of the hood to the comfortable size, as to make sure positive pressure.

5.2.4 Breathing tube should avoid being damaged or exposure to open flame or sparks. However, if such exposure in operating conditions is unavoidable, the air tube shall be covered with a flame-resistant lag.

5.2.5 Often clean the hood and personal head health. The bonnet may be washed with water but glasses damage shall be avoided during bonnet washing.

5.2.6 After using the product must be taken away from the working area and remove the airflow tube and filters, and close the air intakes and outlet airtight with tighten caps rotating clockwise immediately to protect the inside of the main body from being contaminated. So does the filters. Otherwise the filter will continue to work so that the life will be shorted. The main body and filters can be sprayed by water after sealed.

5.2.7 This respirator (portable) is unsuitable to anoxic (i.e. oxygen content less than 18%) or explosive operating conditions, or IDLH concentration (Immediately Dangerous to Life and Health).

5.2.8 If using it in anoxic or IDHL environments, the air supply tube can be changed to longer hose to protect the main body from the dangerous environments.

5.2.9. If there is AC power nearby, the battery will not necessarily to be used under the situation of a long breathing hose. Use switch to give the power supply. Thus the time of power supply will not be limitative.

J5.2.10.If use breathing hose, only low-resistance filter (type: 103HD) is suitable as large-air resistance will influence the air flow of filter badly. Various usages filters are supplied for users.

5.2.11 If respirator is far from working spot, operator works in anoxic like condition with long breathing hose, there should be a person specially assigned for warding. Warding person must communicate with the operators to confirm whether powered respirator is in order. If suddenness happens (powered respirator doesn’t work), operator must be rescued immediately to insure safety.

5.3 Replacing filters and gaskets

5.3.1. For 103HD high efficiency particulate filters：Filter changing is necessary when you feel less or no fresh air get in even with enough power supply from the battery, resulting from the fact that the filter may have been filled with fine particles in such case. Take out the filter and knock the windward side and much dust could be knocked out. Use the soft dry cloth or paper to wipe the filter. Put the filter into main body thus it can continue to work. After used time after time the filter may be full of dust, a new filter should be needed.

5.3.2. For 103W、103G high efficiency dust and gas proof filter：for dustproof, the way of changing filter is the same as above (refer to 5.3a)；For gas proof, it depends on whether feel the ill odors. If the ill odors or swirl, naupathia are felt that is to say filter box 103W、103G is saturated. It lost the ability to filtrate the poison and should be changed.

5.3.3. If the silica gel gaskets are broken or aging, please change new ones to insure airtight ability of the respirator.

5.3.4 The filter 103HD、103W、103G shall not be exposed to water or moisture. If any, please change timely.

5.4 Recharging

5.4.1. When you feel much less or even no air get in with a new filter or a filter before the expiration date, when the battery energy is low, electronic warning system will buzz, then the batteries need to be changed or recharged accordingly.

5.4.2. Open the cap in the back of the main body, and take out the bettery on which you can find a aperture in the battery compartment, and it is for power supply or recharging use.

5.4.3. Insert the charger plug into the aperture in the battery compartment (socket), and connect the charger to 100 ~ 240V alternative current power supply and the charging is in progress.

5.4.5 When the charger begins, the indicator will turn red indicating the initiation of charging and then turn green indicating the completion of recharging.

5.4.6. With first use, more than 8hrs charge is needed and with routine use thereafter, 6hrs charging is enough. The intelligent recharger may avoid batter damage resulting from overcharge.

6. Main Parts and Parameters

6.1 Electrically motivated blower fan (space fan DC brushless，stepless-adjustable rotation of motor) Specification：Φ 120mm H32mm，Voltage 12V DC, Power >16.5W，Noise <55dB, Life >50000hrs，rated minimum air flow >800L/Min-1000L/Min，Air flow after filter >170L/Min－280L/Min.

6.2 Specifications of Filter（102D、102G、102W）with RD40 filter interface andΦ110X70 mm filter case are as follow. Filtrating precision 0.3μm，Dust resistance rate >99.97%, Life of filter airtight preserved is 3 years. The conserved environment must be dry, ventilating, without acid or alkali or impregnant and such polluted matters.

6.2.1.103HD high efficiency particulate filter is applicable to various grain like materials（dust、fog、smoke and so on）and not excessive gas odor. Together with 38mm thick HEPA , the filter has filter precision 0.3μm and huge capability to filtrate the dust and it can sieve all kinds of dust , germ , virus and low concentration ill odors（Air flow is huge after putting main body :200L/Min—280L/Min）.Time of work can be various according to the work environment: 103HD almost 3 months.

6.2.2. 103W high efficiency dust and gas filter is applicable to various grain like material（dust、fog、smoke and so on）and many kinds of poisonous and harmful ill odors. Together with Φ100mmX20mmHEPA and 30mm thick (weight about 100g) high efficiency catalyzed active fiber charcoal inside that can sieve all kinds of dust , germ , virus and high concentration poisonous and harmful odors（With it the main body air flow is 170L/Min—260L/Min）.For dustproof, performance is the same as 103HD（refer to 6.2.a）. Dustproof time is a little shorter than 103HD. For gas proof , this filter can filtrate acidic gas, alkaline gas, neutral gas and organic gas synchronously. The overall effect of filtrating poison is perfect. This characteristic surmounts the normal active carton and materials. Time of work can be various according to the work environment. When feel ill odors, that is to say the life of 103W filter is ending. It must be changed.

6.2.3. 103G high efficiency dust and gas filter is applicable to various grain like material（dust、fog、smoke and so on）and many kinds of poisonous and harmful ill odors. Together with 96mmX10mmHEPA and 50mm thick (weight about 150g) high efficiency catalyzed active fiber charcoal inside that can sieve acidic gas, alkaline gas, neutral gas and organic gas synchronously. The overall effect of filtrating poison is perfect. This characteristic surmounts the normal active carton and materials.（With it the main body air flow is 170L/Min—230L/Min）. Time of work can be various according to the work environment. When feel ill odors that are to say the life of 103W filter is ending. It must be changed.

6.3 Breath hose: Light in weight（PU）material, durable and airproof with good ductility. Air flow can thrill through freely even bend 360°.

6.4 Air Supply Hood：

6.4.1. A2C air-supply helmet：

A2C air-supply mask and any safety helmet on sell arranged in pairs compose an air-supply helmet with high transparency and concussion PC glass pieces and airproof face area, weighting 650g.

6.4.2. M1 air-supply hood is made of PVC complex material with a hood and shawl integration and airproof head and face area, weighting 200ｇ

6.4.4. M2 air-supply hood is made of PVC complex material with a hood and shawl integration and airproof head and face area, weighting 280ｇ.

6.4.5. M3 air-supply hood is made of PVC complex material with a hood and shawl integration (breathing tube inside)and airproof neck area, weighting 300ｇ.

6.4.6. M5 air supply full mask is made of silica gel in procession of PC glass pieces with fog proof design in both sides, large vision and face design enabled the mouth and nose double sealed in four points, applicable to various features, just weighting 300g. When using together with PRF103 respirator, the M5 can be used as a normal negative pressure dust and poison proof mask.

6.4.7. M6 airtight half mask, made of silica gel without poison , smell and stimulation to skin, comfortable in wearing, easy in using, remarkable in airtightness, less breathing resistance, favorable sound transmitting, long using life, weighting 180g. When using together with PRF103 respirator, the M6 can be used as a normal negative pressure dust and poison proof mask.

6.5 Polymer lithium-ion battery pack, no memory effect，11.1V DC voltage，4800mAh capacity, 500 cycle life and it must be used together with the special charger. After fully charged, it can supply power for the PRF103 respirator 6 to 8 hours in consecutive operation. If air flow regulate maximum, the lithium battery can work for 6hours continuously, while air flow regulate minimum, 8 hours. ) If not using the battery, please keep in half charged condition.

6.6 Charger is intelligent type，100-240V AC 50/60HZ input, 12.6V DC 1000mA output, freely charged without worrying about overcharge’s affection upon the battery life）.

6.7 Airflow indicator is made of PC material. Press the power switch, and then plug the end of the airflow indicator in the end of the breathing tube. While the air flow enters the indicator, the bobber in the indicator will float up, which indicates that it’s positive pressure now and the respirator can be used normally. Otherwise, the respirator is forbidden to be used. The reasons might be lacking power or filter’s resistance. Please check the filters and the electricity quantity of the battery and clean or change filters and recharge the battery timely

6.8 Glass pieces is made of polycarbonate PC with high transparency and impact resistant，Transparency >90%.

6.9 PRF-103 respirator with the battery excluding the filter case weighs 1450g.

7. Guarantee

If the main body does not work, please pull out the connecting line between the battery and the main body and plug in again. Restart the respirator, if it still does not work, please change a new connecting line to try again. Without intended damage, this product will be guaranteed as follows: 1 (one) year of maintenance with electrically motivated blower fan, 1/2 (half) year of maintenance with Polymer Li-ion battery unit and charger.
