1. Usage & Characteristics
This product(PRF-103AD）is a kind of powered air purifying solar auto-darkening welding helmet that can proof dust and gas（refer to Fig. 1）provides the water proof main bodys design which can endure the strict cleaning and sterilizing. Three filters slots design determines that the respirator will be suitable for different working environments as you can choose to use one or two or three of the slots at the same time. The respirator is light in weight, comfortable in wearing, human body engineering design which can uniformly distribute the weight, easy in operation with remarkable positive pressure, service life, airtight and filtrating functions, 0.3μm filtrating precision and 99.97% filtrating efficiency. This Auto-darkening Welding Helmet provides eye and skin protection of welders against Ultraviolet and Infrared emissions，integrating respiratory, skin and eye protection, which is light in weight, easy to operate, well-sealed, with fine filtering precision, voluminous air pipe and satisfactory positive pressure, and durable in life, air flow supply big and the air flow can be regulate, clockwise regulate high flow and anti-clockwise regulate low flow and satisfactory positive pressure, glass auto-darken，switch time< 0.1 ms, dark：9-13（knob inside）.It assures that in an environment with a dense dust concentration and poisonous environment, people wearing this respiratory article could work with ease and merriness, and thereby do a good job for keeping healthy with them. Therefore this product is an optimum personal protective article in prevention of pneumoconiosis and protection for worker’s eyes.
2. Applicable Scope
This product is used in many kinds of welding condition that head will not be accidentally hurt and many kinds of gas protecting welding （TIG、MIG、MAG）of adverse electric welding machine as well as all kinds of arc welding. This product is adaptive to various particles (dust, fog, smoke and the like) and many kinds of poisonous and harmful ill odors.
3.Structure

3.1 PRF-103AD main body has 2 choices of filter: 103HD, 103W and 103G（refer to 6.2）.
4、Installation
In the main body, there are three air intakes and 1 air outlet, the caps of which should be tighten rotated to the main body and the battery should have been installed inside of the main body. Before installation, please rotate anticlockwise to remove the caps of the air intakes and outlet to check whether there is a white silica gel gasket circle in each air intakes and outlet. Please make sure each gasket circle is installed properly before use. This is of great importance.
Please choose appropriate filters according to the working conditions. Please confirm again that all the silica gel gasket circles are properly installed. Rotate anticlockwise to remove the round cap on the top of the filter, then unclose the black tighten gasket in the filter bottom, after that please aim the interface with screw thread of the filer at the interface with screw thread of the air intake, then rotate clockwise tighten. One or two or three filters can be used at the same time. The quantity of intakes you use should be exactly the same as the filters you installed. When you are not using all the air intakes, please close all the other intakes. One side of the breathing tube should be fasten to the outlet of the main body and rotate tightly clockwise. The other side should be aimed to the interface of the air supply hood, and rotate tightly clockwise. (fig 1)
5. Using methods
5.1 Please check the respirator airflow before using. The method is that install the filter to the main body and the breathing tube to the filter respectively, and then press the power switch and plug the end of the airflow indicator in the end of the breathing tube. While the air flow enters the indicator, the bobber in the indicator will float up higher than one scale on the indicator, which indicates that it’s positive pressure now and the respirator can be used normally. Otherwise, the respirator is forbidden to be used. The reasons might be lacking power or filter’s resistance. Please check the filters and the electricity quantity of the battery and clean or change filters and recharge the battery timely.
Please adjust the straps in back and shoulders, the clamp inside the hood based on the personal differences. Then adorn the respirator; press the power switch to turn on it. Rotate the airflow knob to the suitable value. Now the respirator can start to work. An electronic warning system is installed inside the respirator which can buzz automatically when the battery is going to be out of power and then powered off automatically.
5.2 Cautions
a The caps the three air intakes and 1 air outlet are tighten rotated to the main body before sold when the power switch must not be pressed or the main body will be burned out. When switch on the main body, please make sure at least one of the intakes and outlet is opened. Please do not use when the tighten gaskets in the air intakes or outlet are broken, aging or dropped. If using 2 or 3 filters at the same time, please use filters in the same type. Before using, the battery must be charged up. In duration of operation, this respirator must be switched on; otherwise no dust or poison control may be gained. It is prohibited to short circuit connect the product or put it into fire. The battery must be recharged up if not using it in at least six months. Main body（battery is charged up）can work for 6--8 hours continuously. When air flow regulates maximum, the battery can work for 6 hours continuously, when air flow regulate minimum, the battery can work 8 hours continuously. If it works for more than 6--8 hours, stand by battery must be prepared.
5.2.2 Before welding work, check the helmet not damaged and the cover lens is fitted. Never use the helmet without cover lens, or the filter glass will be damaged by the welding splashes.
5.2.3 Select shade by the shade select knob to suit the welding current. Take the helmet to work site, adjust the “Sensitivity” knob clockwise until the viewing window turn to dark, and then turn this knob anti-clockwise slowly until the window is clear.
5.2.4 Prior to entering contaminated operating conditions, please wear this product and switch on the power supply.
5.2.5 There may be a tiny gap in the sections between head cover and face or neck. Please do not worry about it. Because it remains positive pressure within the facial mask, outside dust particles and gases could not get in. If the gap is a little bit large, please adjust the regulater in the neck of the hamlet based on the personal requirements to make sure it is positive pressure in the hamlet.
5.2.6 If the shade is obviously dark enough, you should change the battery. Take off the cartridge，draw out the drawer where hold the standby battery near by the solar battery. Change into a changeable Lithium battery（CR2032）. This battery’s life is 1 year.
5.2.7 After welding you should check the cover lens, if it stained some dust, please wipe it off by soft cloth, or washed by mild solution of soap. Do not use hard cloth or rough paper to wipe it.。After each work the product must be taken away from the work area and conserved airproof. Otherwise the filter will continue to work so that the life will be shorted. The solar auto-darkening hamlet must be kept in cool and dry place.
5.2.8 This product does not provide protection against: acetylene welding or Laser welding！And unsuitable to anoxic (i.e. oxygen content less than 18%) or explosive operating conditions, or IDLH concentration (Immediately Dangerous to Life and Health) or potential explosion hazard.
5.2.9 If the environment is anoxic and possibly explosive, a breath hose could be used so that main body will be safe. The length should not be longer then 20m because of the finity of power of the main body for too long hose would weaken the wind power.
5.2.10 If there is AC power nearby, battery needn’t be used under the situation of breath hose. Use switch to give the power supply. Thus the time of power supply will not be limited.
5.2.11 If use breath hose, only low-resistance filter (type: 102HD) is suitable for large-air resistance will bad influence the air flow of filter. Our company provides filters in various use.
5.2.12 If powered respirator is far from working space, operator works in anoxic like condition with breath hose, there should be a person specially assigned for a task of ward. The person outside must communicate with the operators to confirm whether powered respirator is in order. If suddenness happens (powered respirator doesn’t work), the operator must be rescued immediately to insure safety.
5.3 Replace for filter、gasket and cover lens
5.3.1 For103D high efficiency particulate filter：Filter changing is necessary when you feel much less or no fresh air get in even with enough power supply from the battery, resulting from the fact that the filter may have been filled with fine particles in such case. Take out the filter and knock the windward side so that much dust could be knocked out. Use the soft dry cloth or paper wipes the filter. Put the filter into main body thus it can continue to work. After used time after time the filter may be full of dust, thus may change the filter.
5.3.2 For 103G、103W high efficiency particulate and gas filter：for dustproof, the way of changing filter is the same as above (refer to 5.3.1)；For gas proof, it depends on whether the ill odors can be felt . If the ill odors or swirl and naupathia can be felt, that is to say filter box 103W, 103G is saturated. It lost the ability to filtrate the poison. It should be changed.
5.3.3 If the silica gel gaskets in the intakes and outlet of the main body are broken or aging, please change new ones to insure airtight ability of the respirator.
5.3.4 The filter 103HD、103G、103W shall not be exposed to water or moisture. If any such exposure happens, please change in time either.
5.3.6 Cover lens should be changed as followed if was damaged by the welding splashes that affect the normal work：Take off the cartridge, change a new cover lens (take off the film) into cartridge, then screw down it.
5.4 Charging
5.4.1 When you feel much less or even no air get in with a new filter or a filter before the expiration date, When the battery power appears low, electronic warning system will buzz, then the batteries need to be changed accordingly.
5.4.2 The aperture in the battery compartment is for power supply or charging use.
5.4.3 Connect the charger to 100 ~ 240V alternative current power supply then insert the charger plug into the aperture in the battery compartment (socket), and the charging is in progress.
5.4.4 When the charger begins operation, the indicator will turn red indicating the initiation of charging and then turns green indicating the completion of it.
5.4.5 With first use, more than 8hrs charge is needed and with routine use thereafter, 5hrs charge is enough. The intelligent charger may avoid batter damage resulting from overcharging.
6. Main Parts and Parameters
6.1 Electrically motivated blower fan
6.1.1 PRF-103 Electrically motivated blower fan（space fan DC brushless），Specification：Voltage 12V DC, Power >8.5-16.5W，Noise <55dB， Life >50000 hrs，Normal minimum air flow 400L/Min-1000L/Min，Air flow after filter >170L/Min-280L/Min.
6.2 Filter
6.2.1 Filter（103HD, 103W,103G），RD40 standard connector, Filter case specification Φ110X70 mm, Filtrating precision 0.3μm，Dust resistance rate >99.97%, Life of filter conserved airproof is 3 years. The conserved environment must be desiccate, air floating, no acid or alkali or impregnant and such polluted matter.
6.2.1.1 103HD high efficiency particulate filter：applicable to various grain like material（dust、fog、smoke and so on）.Together with Φ100mmX50mm HEPA and 0.3μm filter efficiency in it that can sieve all kinds of dust, germ and virus（Air flow is huge after putting main body :200L/Min-280L/Min）.Time of work can be various according to the work environment: 103HD almost 3 months.
6.2.1.2 103W high efficiency particulate and gas filter：applicable to various grain like material（dust、fog、smoke and so on）and many kinds of poisonous and harmful ill odors. Together with Φ100mmX20mmHEPA (Filtrating precision 0.3μm )and 30mm thick (weight about 100g) high efficiency catalyzed active carton fiber in it that can sieve all kinds of dust , germ , virus and high concentration poisonous and harmful odors（After putting main body air flow is :170L/Min-260L/Min）.For dustproof, performance is the same as 103HD. Dustproof time is a little shorter than 103HD. For gas proof , this filter can filtrate acidic gas, alkalescent gas, neutral gas and organic gas synchronously. Competitive effect of filtrating poison is perfect. This characteristic precedes than normal active carton and material. Time of work can be various according to the work environment. When feel ill odors, that is to say the life of 103W filter is ending. It must be changed.
6.2.1.3 103G high efficiency particulate filter：applicable to various grain like material（dust、fog、smoke and so on）and no super scale peculiar smell gas. Together with 96mmX10mm HEPA in it and 50mm thick active carbon fiber that can sieve all kinds of acidic gas, alkalescent gas, neutral gas and organic gas synchronously. This characteristic precedes than normal active carton and material. （Air flow after putting main body is 170L/Min-230L/Min）.Time of work can be various according to the work environment. When feel ill odors, that is to say the life of 103G filter is ending. It must be changed.
6.3 Breath hose: Φ38mm，L 1-15m. Lightweight（PU）material. Wind thrill through freely even bend 360°. Well airproof. If use breath hose, length 10m to wind capacity 230L/Min while 15m to 160L/Min.
6.4 Air-supply auto-darkening welding helmet：
Type：AD
This helmet（AD）is the renewed product of normal welding helmet. It adopts photoelectric control technology，not necessary to switch on, not occupy the other hand of worker, auto darkening. Work pieces can be seen clearly before welding. It auto darkles immediately when welding splashes. Switch Time< 0.1ms，dark：9-13（knob inside）.It keeps out the strong welding light effectively and provides the protection for eyes. This product working with PRF—102R、PRF—103 respirators can protect eyes and breath. Before using the helmet, please adjust the hoop. The helmet can be washed but do not scrape the glass. Every time take down the helmet please keep well the screw in order to reinstall favorably

6.5 Battery (Polymer Li-ion type, no memory effect，Voltage：11.1V DC，Capacity 4800mAh. Cycle life of battery: Carry out 500cycle. PRF-102R guarantee 6—8 hours consecutive operation following fully charged. When air flow regulate maximum, the Li-ion battery can work for 6hours continuously, when air flow regulate minimum, the Li-ion battery can work 8 hours continuously. )
6.6 Charger（Intelligent type，Input：100-240V AC 50/60HZ, Output：12.6V DC 1000mA, freely charged without worry about overcharge’s affection upon the battery life）.
6.7 Airflow indicator (PC material). Press the power switch, and then plug the end of the airflow indicator in the end of the breathing tube. Otherwise, the respirator is forbidden to be used. The reasons might be lacking power or filter’s resistance. 7、Guarantee
If the main body does not work, please pull out the connecting line between the battery and the main body and plug in again. Restart the respirator, if it still does not work, please change a new connecting line to try again. Without intended damage, this product will be guaranteed as follows: 1 (one) year of maintenance with electrically motivated blower fan, 1/2 (half) year of maintenance with Polymer Li-ion battery unit and charger.
